Japanese word “Hikikomori” means a person who avoids social contact.
It is not a word in English.
There are 700,000 adults of “Hikikomori” in Japan.
In the investigation, it is a number continuing more than a half year.
When I hear it with “Hikikomori”, I think that it means not to go out of the room all day.
However, it seems to be different.
The person who is said to be “Hikikomori”.
- Stay in the home, but go for shopping. (150,000 people)
- Go out of the room, but do not go out of the home. (30,000 people)
- Not go out of the room. (40,000 people)
- Stay in the home, but go out only at the time of business about the hobby. (460,000 people)
About 460,000 people of the last sentence, Do you think it is “Hikikomori”?

As for being a problem, this “Hikikomori of adult” is becoming the social problem.
It is only good to stay indoors.
